The government in Nepal says that the economic situation is not as bad as it is in Sri Lanka, but the opposition insists on measures to prevent a crisis. With the ruling coalition not on a firm footing in Parliament, political instability threatens to hobble economic recovery.
Key components of an alternate agriculture system should be diversification of production on agricultural lands, enhancing agrobiodiversity, integration of animal husbandry and multi-crop cultivation, crop rotation, and the protection and promotion of resilient local seed and plant varieties.
