Akin to several higher education institutions in the country, the ancient seat of learning, which was revived in 2010, is on the brink of being completely captured by those who subscribe to the BJP-RSS ideology.
In many remote areas, students have few options other than single-teacher schools in their villages. These are the very schools the government has targeted for closing down.

The New Education Policy does not look to build on existing strengths in higher education. Instead, its aim is total disruption: a drastic modification in the meaning of higher education itself and the facilitation of edtech.
Serious attempts to change what is taught and the outlook towards education itself have taken place under the stewardship of PM Narendra Modi. The new National Education Policy provides the necessary framework for both the Hindutvaisation and aggressive privatisation of education.
