The Kalash Yatras, which started from Lakhimpur Kheri on October 12, are in progress in several states of India. In response to rail roko call by SKM on Oct 18, thousands of farmers squat on rail tracks, affecting over 290 trains across states.

Ever since its founding in 1946, Janata has voiced its principled dissent against all conduct and practice that is detrimental to the cherished values of nationalism, democracy, secularism and socialism, while upholding the integrity and the ethical norms of healthy journalism.
