    ByJanata Backup April 21, 2019October 22, 2020

Every Vestige of Western Culture is a Vestige of Barbarism On April 15, for reasons not yet fully clarified by the French authorities, a large proportion of Notre Dame Cathedral was consumed by fire. The incident itself is regrettable, for, as prevailing common sense rightly points out, any material loss of human culture, regardless of…

The Assange Arrest Is a Warning from History

    ByJanata Backup April 21, 2019October 22, 2020

The Assange Arrest Is a Warning from History The glimpse of Julian Assange being dragged from the Ecuadorean embassy in London is an emblem of the times. Might against right. Goebbelsian Doublespeak: B. R. Ambedkar and the RSS

    ByJanata Backup April 21, 2019October 22, 2020

Goebbelsian Doublespeak: B. R. Ambedkar and the RSS Historically, the philosophical roots of the RSS can be located in German National Socialism and the former has constantly strived to live up to the ideals of its mentors. This is best illustrated when the RSS indulges in Goebbelsian doublespeak to further its exclusivist nationalism. A lie…

    ByJanata Backup April 21, 2019October 22, 2020

Modinomics = Corporatonomics Part II: Budgets and Agriculture In the previous part of this article, we had shown that the government, if it wants, can raise enough resources to implement a whole slew of welfare measures. In Ex-Colonial Countries, People Should Stop Admiring the US and Europe

    ByJanata Backup April 14, 2019October 22, 2020

In Ex-Colonial Countries, People Should Stop Admiring the US and Europe It may sound incredible, but it is true: in countries that have been damaged, even totally robbed and destroyed by the West, many people are still enamoured with Europe and North America.   For years, I have been observing this ‘phenomena’, even in the…

Janata Weekly

Janata Weekly is India’s oldest independent socialist weekly.

Ever since its founding in 1946, Janata has voiced its principled dissent against all conduct and practice that is detrimental to the cherished values of nationalism, democracy, secularism and socialism, while upholding the integrity and the ethical norms of healthy journalism. For more than seventy years now, week after week, it has continued to analyse the changes taking place in the country and the world from a socialist standpoint, and thus promote the spread of socialist ideology in the country.
