Imagine a climate strike in which 40,000 industrial workers, climate activists, pacifists and other non-politically active people are brought together. In their speeches, they denounce the shutdown of an automotive supply factory.

G.G., as he was endearingly known, was a student at St. Xavier’s College, then Bombay. Thereafter, he joined G.S. Medical College, Parel and graduated to be a medical doctor in 1950. The motto of St. Xavier’s college: “Provocans ad volandum,” translates to “inspire to fly.” This tribute seeks to answer: How was G.G. inspired to fly while at Xavier’s?
