China seems poised to take leadership of regional efforts to forge a safety net that protects countries in East Asia from the fragility that cross-border financial flows engender.
It is based on three giant myths: Tax cuts for corporations and the rich create more and better jobs; Tax cuts for big corporations and the rich spur economic growth; Deregulation spurs economic growth. It is time to debunk them, once and for all.
Food security and food sovereignty are key elements in reducing poverty and guarding against hunger and external economic shocks. Coming from the campesino social movements, Evo Morales was aware of this and made it a priority after coming to power. Bolivia now produces 95% of what it consumes.

Thousands of Colombians, for a second consecutive day, mobilize in rejection of the far-right President Ivan Duque’s neoliberal tax reform, which seeks to make the working class pay for the fiscal deficit incurred due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
