The dramatic events in Palestine starting on October 7 have taken many people by surprise. The reason is the tendency to pay close attention to political discourses and intelligence analyses of Israel and its supporters – while largely neglecting the Palestinian discourse.
May this Christmas season be a time when humankind, as a whole, can aspire to a just world where death and destruction are left behind and an authentic peace be positioned through constant dialogue.

December 6, Ambedkar Smriti Din, is significant in Indian history for one more reason – it was on this day in 1992 that the Babri Masjid was demolished. Former president Dr K.R. Narayanan has described this as the greatest tragedy India faced after the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi.
Western leaders and officials are speaking out now because they understand that the Palestinian cause has become a global one, and that the prolonging of Israeli occupation will not bode well, neither for Tel Aviv nor for the collective West. It is time for Palestinians to utilize this significant moment.
The holocaust now visited on Palestine by U.S./Israel is unique in many ways. Rates of killing and maiming exceed those of previous Israeli assaults on Gaza, the perpetrators announce their genocidal intent with unusual frankness, and Western media and official apologists are especially shameless.

There can’t be democracy and colonial war; one aspires to decency, the other to fascism. Meanwhile, once welcomed mavericks are heretics now in an underground of journalism amid a landscape of mendacious conformity.
We should be grateful to the Palestinian people. We stand with them, but it is the steadfastness of their popular struggle for universal freedom and dignity that shows the way. Also: Huge protests in New York and London in support of Palestine.
