The dramatic events in Palestine starting on October 7 have taken many people by surprise. The reason is the tendency to pay close attention to political discourses and intelligence analyses of Israel and its supporters – while largely neglecting the Palestinian discourse.
The amount of destruction brought upon the people of Gaza, unseen since 1948, suggests one thing: Israel’s clear intention to depopulate Gaza, a plan that Tel Aviv tried to implement in the past but has never succeeded at. By endless violence and hateful propaganda, the Indian nation as a shared zone of sensibilities is coming under severe strain.
In 2023 the Constitution was challenged as being colonial and outdated. Bibek Debroy’s opinion piece was product placement, a warning of things to come. The aim behind these suggestions is to facilitate Central “executive efficiency”, governance involving “law and order, and swift dispute resolution”.
The parliament’s fall as an institution of functioning democracy was accompanied by axe on the Election Commission and CAG. Also: The INDIA alliance parties need to recognize the magnitude of the historical moment they are navigating. Unity is, therefore, an existential imperative. Are they aware of this reality?
