A discussion of the evolution of the share possessed by the richest 10 percent and 1 percent between late 18th century to 2010, based on evidence gathered by Thomas Piketty.
Piketty shows that the richest 1 percent has concentrated such a phenomenal amount of tangible and intangible assets that a tax policy targeting the richest 1 percent, 2.5 percent, or even 10 percent would provide substantial means for breaking with neoliberalism.
